FAQ's
What is Nomads?
Nomads Mobile Motorcycle Service, or "MMS" for short, is a unique mobile motorcycle mechanic service. Basically we make house calls to fix and service your ride. Our mission is to provide an excellent service that is affordable, transparent and convenient for our clients. We want to make sure you are happy with your service and provide you with the right options that fit your needs and budget.
Where do we work?
We operate very similar to most service shop except that we are mobile. We do not have a local service facility where you can drop your bike off as we come to you. This makes servicing your bike much less of a hassle especially if it's not running. You can generally expect the same type of service as regular shops with a few (awesome!) exceptions because of our mobile platform.
Since we are bringing the garage to you, we charge a minimum Mobile Service Fee for each job. Basically this fee pays for gas, time spent on the road and others costs. However, because we don't have a normal shop to pay rent on and other expenses, this keeps our regular labor rates very low, much lower than other shops. Because the average job takes 3-4 hours to perform, your bill will be less with us than anywhere else. Oh, did we mention you can stay in your PJ's while your bike is getting fixed?
When do I pay?
You are only required to pay the Mobile Service Fee upfront. You pay for additional services after they are completed. Payment for parts is required in advance aside for a few small consumable items we probably already have in stock. We accept most credit and debit cards, PayPal, check (prior to approval) and cash.
How many appointments will it take to fix my bike?
Generally we can diagnose, service and repair a motorcycle in 1-2 appointments depending on the amount of service needed. On the first appointment we can usually finish minor services, scheduled maintenance jobs, oil changes, etc. If your bike has a problem however, we will take time to diagnose the issue and write up an estimate to fit your needs. Once you agree to the work you want done, we will attempt to do as much as possible at that time on the repair. In the event you need additional parts that need to be ordered, or if more time is needed, we will schedule a second visit. Sometimes on larger jobs or if additional problems are found during a repair, a 3rd appointment may be required.
Can I provide my own parts?
Yes. Yes you can. And we don't charge you any ridiculous fees for it either. You will usually always save money ordering your own parts. Understand however that we do not warranty labor on the parts provided by you nor the parts themselves. Just make sure you are ordering the correct parts for your bike and that it's a quality part to avoid any issues.
